Q. What will my elevator look like? A. Bostock SnapCab lets you design your own elevator interior online. You can also choose from a full line of standard cabs shown in our Showroom/Gallery. If you see a model you like, just click and order.
Q. What are my choices for panels and panel colors? A. You can use any material in any color, as long as it’s 1/4 inch thick or less and meets your local elevator and fire rating codes. See the Design Your Cab page for specific choices.
Q. How long does it take to install a SnapCab elevator interior? A. Elevator panels install in about 2 hours. Elevator ceilings install in 1½ to 2 hours.
Q. Who can install my new SnapCab? A. SnapCabs are simple to install, and your local elevator maintenance company will gladly handle installation. Call us at 888-766-7834 if you need the name of an installer near you.
Q. Do you offer installation training? A. Yes. SnapCab is the only company that offers on-line training videos. In fact, our system is so simple that any elevator professional can install a SnapCab with the simple instructions that come with it. For Information about onsite assistance, click here.
Q. What’s so simple about a SnapCab elevator interior? A. SnapCab’s patented tongue-and-groove joint, combined with its stacking horizontal panels makes it possible to remodel most elevator interiors in a day. Once a wall has its second layer in place, the rest just slip in place. See how simple SnapCabs are.
Q. How much assembly does a SnapCab elevator interior require? A. Very little. Our philosophy is to do as much installation as possible in the factory to save you time in the field. Even the handrail and pad buttons are already installed. All the installer needs to do is screw the panels to the wall.
Q. What about the doors? A. A local metal refinishing company can often polish out door scratches and apply a protective coating. Badly damaged doors can be replaced by local maintenance companies.
Q. What about the front walls? A. We offer simple-to-install plastic laminate panels to cover the front walls. For the elevator professional, we offer two step-by-step training videos that show how to reclad a wall.
Q. How much does a SnapCab elevator panel weigh? A. Plastic-laminate wall paneling typically weighs 3.5 pounds per square foot. Our framed ceilings with drop-in light diffusers weigh less than 1.75 pounds per square foot. Click here for a complete weight chart.
Q. What about fire rating? A. Our products are in compliance with all relevant American National Standards Institute (ANSI) regulations. You can download fire rating data here. We will be happy to fax or e-mail you an MSDS sheet on request.
Q. What is your lead time? A. We ship an average of 6 to 10 weeks after your order is confirmed. Call 888-766-7834 for current lead times.
Q. Who is my distributor? A. We distribute through elevator maintenance companies located throughout North America. (These same companies also handle installation of our elevator interiors.) Call 888-766-7834 and we will put you in touch with your nearest distributor/installer.
Q. Can I get drawings of SnapCab elevator interiors? A. Yes. Our engineering department will do perspective or scaled CAD drawings of your elevator interior. You can download our pre-drawn architectural drawings here.
